Once again I have been screwed buy this company. After finally getting my thermostat in my husband called to get the HAVAC unit looked at.
He received a phone call saying the tech would be here yesterday between 1&5 pm. I sat here all day, around 3 on my husband called to get an update. Turns out there was no tech coming. Apparently Pivotal doesn't even have any A/C companies under contract in my area.
WTH!!! First I sit here all day for no reason. Then I find out I'm paying for A/C coverage I can't use.!!!! Then they tell my husband we can get someone from my area to fix it and they will reimburse me.
The point of having this coverage is so I don't have to pay for stuff out of pocket. What is the point of having it if I have to.pay for my own repairs anyway

Unathorized fee on my Gas Bill from Vectren Home Solutions
My complaint is for Vectren Home Solutions, I called Vectren Gas company to set up my gas service to a house we had just recently bought in August of 2017. Before this I would rent so this is my first house I've owned and paid a gas bill.
So I had no idea how the bills would look like each month if they would be high or low. Winter came bills were at least 100$ for a small 2 bedroom house, Then in the summer when I didn't use the gas at all my bills were still high . So one day I look at my Vectren Bill and it has a balance of $100.00, and I'm asking my self how can I get that much on my bill if I don't use the gas at all. I Look at my bill and notice a Vectren third party fee, I called Vectren and asked them about my bill.
Lady on the phone said "you only have a balance of $30.00 with us, the rest is for other services which we are not responsible for". I asked her who is responsible for this and how did I end up with this. They didn't answer any of my questions they basically said they can't help me with anything I would have to call Vectren Home Solutions. It took me two days to get a hold of someone, and I asked them how did I end up with this on my bill.
They said when you call to set up your gas service they offer that to you and the confirmation is some mail they send to the address provided which shows what the service is for. Which I never received. Manager called me one week later and played the call for me, when I asked her if she could email it to me so i can listen to the entire call. Because my question was how did I get to them, I never called them to ask for their service and Vectren Gas Company says they don't offer that service.
The manager fast forwarded the recorded call, I didn't get to listen to the entire call. But she did play the part where a lady is asking letting me know about the insurance which I would only answer okay..? but with a doubtful voice, because I wasn't sure what they were talking about. I never said yes to this service and I still ended up with this on my bill for the past year.
I politely asked for a refund because I was not aware of this service. The lady on the phone told me no its only so much a month, Making it seem as if it was a couple cents for me to be asking for a refund. I asked her is it alot for your company? she said no but we can't refund you anything.
For me its alot, I told her I can barely afford to pay my bills and child care. I'm very upset at this company and at Vectren for not informing me about this service.
The worst part is that you do not even know who to call with any questions about this. Vectren Gas Company doesn't want to be involved in it, they will just tell you to call 800536**** and then whomever answers can't show any type of proof that you signed up for this, And basically ignore you let you talk and will not give you any answers.

I paid for over a year for the heating repair & maintenance plan ($29.90mo), then my boiler didn't work. Pivotal sent out a contractor (Martel HVAC) here in MA that looked at the boiler and told me that it required a new gas valve & assembly.
After dealing with the terrible contractor for a few weeks on what was going on with getting the parts and them telling Pivotal that I had an old boiler that was hard to get parts. I was then told that Pivotal doesn't approve "universal parts" and that I should replace my old boiler (18-years old). I believe that most people would accept this and pay $$$$$$ for a new boiler, but I had people tell me that a cast iron boiler can last 30+ years. I looked at my repair manual for the boiler and googled the original parts and found that I could buy them online no problem!
Also found that the so called "universal part" was made by Honeywell, which made the original part. (Honeywell just grouped the same model boilers with different BTU's...all the same),,,but didn't matter because the original parts were still available.
So the contractor told Pivotal that I needed a new boiler and Pivotal told me that they agreed with the contractor. I told them that's BS and sure they will make $$$$ off me and Pivotal pays just $400. So I called my own HVAC guy that came out for $130 and told me he could get the part and that the boiler should last a long time, BUT HERE IS THE KICKER.......ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS CLEAN THE FLAME SENSOR!!!
I HAD HEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT I WAS OUT $130 & ALL THE MONEY I PAID PIVOTAL, WHICH PIVOTAL DIDN'T CARE AND DID NOTHING FOR ME.
On top of it all when I canceled they told me I just paid for the money 3 days early and that I would be billed for the next month because its part of the contract. I had been trying to get my boiler working for the last 29-days and this it what I had to deal with from Pivotal.

I was sent a post card in the mail saying to call 844-203-**** for customer service, to cancel my plan. When I called the number...
no one answered for 48minutes. Meanwhile, I went online and via Chat.. was about to connect with someone named Nikki. She was able to help me online by cancelling my plan.
After my via “chat” was over... someone one finally answered the phone after 55minutes on hold. I asked to speak to a manager so I could file complaint over the long holding period. The lady took my name and number and placed me back on hold..
never to pick up the call again. Very poor customer service. I’m glad I was able to cancel my plan.
And thankful I never needed there service... bc I have a feeling they wouldn’t be able to help in an emergency situation.
